(XFN Asia) OpenSkies, a new transatlantic upmarket airline set up by British Airways, state that it has received approval from the US Department of Transport to launch flights between New York and Paris from Jun-08. The airline, which has just one Boeing 757 with only business class seats, also stated it will start accepting reservations within a few days.

Meanwhile, OpenSkies plans to expand its network of routes operating from New York to other European cities, notably Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and Milan.

The carrier stated it is the first airline to be created on the basis of the US-European 'open skies' agreement, which grants airlines from both sides improved access to the markets of their rivals on the other side of the Atlantic.
