JAL and Finnair Code Share Agreement Expands Northern Europe Services

Japan Airlines has strengthened its network connecting Japan and northern Europe by expanding its bilateral code share agreement with Finnair.

 

Through the agreement, JAL will be able to place its 'JL' code number from 3-Jun-08, on non-stop international flights operated by Finnair between Helsinki and three cities in Japan: Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo. Also included in the agreement are convenient intra-European connections flights operated by Finnair between Helsinki and the northern European cities of Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.
 
One additional city - Oslo - will be added to JAL's Europe network once the code share agreement comes into effect. As a result, JAL, including code shares, will connect Japan to a total of 25 cities in Europe on 37 routings.
 
 
JAL and Finnair, both members of oneworld, first started code sharing on flights on 19-Dec-05. The airlines already code share on daily intra-Europe round-trip flights operated by Finnair between Helsinki and Amsterdam and Frankfurt; and on Japan domestic routes operated by JAL serving the cities of Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo and Sapporo.
 
Other European cities covered by JAL's network, including code shares, are as follows: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, London, Lyons, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Nice, Rome, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich.
