New cargo terminal to be built at Stockholm-Arlanda
New cargo terminal to be built at Stockholm-Arlanda26-May-2008
Stockholm-Arlanda Airport announced plans to construct an additional cargo terminal, as Netherlands-based AST Holding expands its operations in Sweden. The terminal will be 5,700 sqm in size. The terminal is being constructed by Nordic Airport Properties (NAP) and will be leased by ASP Logistic AB. Construction starts on 01-Sep-08 and the terminal will be ready for occupancy on 01-Oct-09. Currently, ASP is located in Rotebro, North of Stockholm. From there, cargo goes by lorries to one of the major European airports before being flown to the customer. In many cases the aircraft flies right over Sweden en route to Asia. “The new terminal will boost our capacity and lower our costs. It is also good for the environment when we can fly directly from Stockholm,” says Michaël HA Brinkman, CEO and principal shareholder of AST holding.
