Japan Airlines (JAL) commenced offering twice-daily codeshare flights operated by British Airways (BA) between Manchester and London (Heathrow) from 03-Jun-08. The expanded codeshare agreement adds Manchester to JAL's Japan-Europe network by providing connections from the UK city onto daily services operated by JAL between London-Tokyo (Narita) and London-Osaka (Kansai).

Including code shares, JAL now connects Japan to 26 cities in Europe on 38 routes. Cities served are as follows: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, London, Lyons, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Nice, Oslo, Rome, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich.

JAL and British Airways - both members of the oneworld alliance - first commenced codesharing in Feb-04. JAL already places its 'JL' designator on flights operated by BA between London and Hamburg, Stuttgart, Vienna and Zurich.
