Birmingham becomes Ryanair’s 25th base

Ryanair announced that Birmingham will become its 25th European base, to be launched on 17-Jun-08 with an initial two Boeing 737-800 aircraft which will deliver 20 new routes from Birmingham. Ryanair will operate from Terminal 2 at Birmingham Airport, where it recently relocated.

 

The new routes will serve Denmark, France, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.

A further eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft will deliver five million passengers annually, a visitor spend of GBP400 million p/a and sustain 5,000 jobs in the West Midlands. An additional route to Frankfurt (Hahn) was announced last week.
