Flybe announces another route cancellation

Flybe is to stop operating yet another of its routes due to concern over the rising cost of fuel, the Irish News reports.

Airline executives have deemed that it no longer makes commercial sense to maintain its Belfast to Paris route.

The no-frills carrier recently announced it is reviewing all "marginal services" as part of a cost-cutting move -confirming just this week that it is to axe its Glasgow to Newquay service.

Both that route and the Paris connection were launched in April, and their swift cancellation comes alongside Flybe's total closure of its base in Galway Airport last month.

The International Air Transport Association recently warned that many operators will struggle to survive in the competitive airline industry if oil prices do not fall in the short-term.
