Ryanair welcomes publication of Aer Lingus’ punctuality stats

Ryanair welcomed the publication (in Irish Times) of Aer Lingus’ punctuality stats, which confirmed that just 66% of Aer Lingus’ flights arrive on time and 34% are delayed.

Commenting today on the late publication of Aer Lingus’ late flights stats, Ryanair’s Daniel de Carvalho said:

“For years, Aer Lingus which is a member of the Association of European Airlines has refused to publish its punctuality stats because they were one of the worst in Europe, as shown by the figures published in today’s Irish Times which confirm that over one third of Aer Lingus’ flights arrived late, compared to just over 10% of Ryanair’s flights. Passengers are 3 times more likely to be late with Aer Lingus than with Ryanair. When you consider Aer Lingus’ delays, its unjustified fuel surcharges and high fares, it is no surprise that Ryanair is the no. 1 choice for Irish visitors and is Irelands favourite airline”.
