Ryanair confirmed that contrary to the false claims by EU bureaucrats, EUR1 airfares are alive and kicking and are available during a 3 day seat sale at www.ryanair.com.
The one million, EUR1 seats (which include taxes and charges), can be booked on www.ryanair.com up to midnight on 18-Jul, subject to availability, for travel between 01-Sept and 31-Oct-08.
Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Stephen McNamara said: “The EU fat cats claim that their recent decision on airline advertising is a victory for the consumer and will mark the demise of EUR1 airfares. This is Rubbish. Ryanair is pleased to prove the bureaucrats wrong yet again as €1 fares (including taxes and charges) are alive and kicking at www.ryanair.com. We continue to deliver what consumers really want – the lowest airfares in Europe and no fuel surcharge, ever. “We call on the EU to make a real difference and examine the unjustified fuel surcharges imposed by many greedy airlines. Already high-fares flag carriers such as Aer Lingus, British Airways, Air France and Lufthansa continue to impose and increase their fuel surcharges with the EU making no attempt to investigate it. Outlawing fuel surcharges would allow the EU to deliver a ruling that will actually make a difference to consumers”.
