In first six months Transaero Airlines has maintained high rates of sustainable growth. All main operational indicators have increased by more than 50%.

 

 Thus in January – June:

* Revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) grew to 7,971 million, a 55% increase from the same period in 2007

* Passenger number grew to 2.065 million, 56% more than in January – June, 2007

* Freight turnover grew to 769 million tons km, a 54% increase over the first six months in 2007

During H1 2008 seven aircrafts were added to the carrier’s fleet: two Boeings 747, four Boeings 767 and one Boeing 737.

Transaero Airlines General Director Olga Pleshakova said, “The first six months in 2008 were very successful for us. For the first time in the company’s history more than two million passengers flew with Transaero Airlines within six months. Sustainable growth of operational indicators shows that we’ve chosen the correct development strategy for the company”, -

According to the published statistics in 2008 Transaero Airlines has become the second-largest carrier in Russia in terms of passenger traffic.
