Norwegian and Sterling show that two is not always better than one

Ryanair called on the newly merged Norwegian and Sterling airline to confirm that they will still be unable to beat Ryanair low fares and will continue to charge customers a fuel surcharge.

 

Ryanair will continue to offer the lowest fares with the guarantee of no fuel surcharge as airlines Sterling and Norwegians, merge to become one high fare, fuel surcharging airline.
 
As news of the merger of Norwegian and Sterling was released Ryanair placed 50,000 tickets for Scandinavia on www.ryanair.com for just EUR15.
 
Speaking today, Ryanair’s Manager for Northern Europe, Wilhelm Hamilton, said:
 
“Merging two high fares airlines like Norwegian and Sterling won’t change a lot at the newly formed airline which will continue to charge high fares and fuel surcharges. Only Ryanair guarantees the lowest fares and no fuel surcharges.”
 
“Sterling and Norwegian charge their customers fuel surcharges which are roughly one third the cost of the average Ryanair fare of EUR44.”
