Flybe has responded to the upcoming strike by Lufthansa staff by increasing capacity on a number of crucial UK-German routes.

28-Jul-08 marks the start of lengthy industrial action by Lufthansa’s Ground and Cabin Crew. With the prospect of at least a fortnight’s total shutdown, Flybe is bringing in larger aircraft on German routes from Birmingham, Southampton and Manchester.

Commenting on the move, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer said:

“Flybe is stepping in with extra capacity to make sure travellers don’t get caught up in the Lufthansa strike. With our great value fares and user-friendly timetable between the UK and Germany, no-one need miss out on that important trip, whether it’s business or leisure. Flybe tickets prices to Germany start at GBP34.99 one way including taxes”.
