Austrian Airlines advisor BCG to deem Lufthansa best strategic partner

The only realistic competitor is Russia's Aeroflot, the Austrian daily added, citing sources close to Austrian Airlines.  Since mid-June, BCG has been carrying out a strategic review aimed at improving the Austrian carrier's earnings potential via restructuring, as well as considering prospects for a strategic partnership.
 
The consultancy was hired after the airline posted shock first quarter losses. In addition to Lufthansa and Aeroflot, Die Presse said BCG has assessed partnership options with Air France-KLM, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Japan's ANA.
