In Oct-08 flyLAL will open new direct flights to Madrid, capital of Spain, and Budapest, capital of Hungary. flyLAL is the only air company in the Baltic States to directly fly to these cities.
Vytautas Kaikaris, CEO of flyLAL said, “While implementing our strategy to develop the Lithuanian flights market, we broaden the geography of flights and launch the two new flights. We are the only air company in the Baltic States which will carry passengers directly to Madrid and Budapest. Both of these cities are geographically important transit points in the Central and Southern Europe for convenient connection flights. After the launch of these flights passengers of flyLAL will have more possibilities to reach their final destination in the shortest available time.”
Mr. Vytautas Kaikaris also stated, that via Budapest countries of the Balkans and Central Europe — Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Greece, Switzerland and others – can be reached easily. Madrid is important not only for those flying to the capital, but to other Spanish cities – Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga – as well as those continuing their journey to Central and Latin America. Head of flyLAL believes that the new flights will be important for business passengers, tourists and other travellers.
Peter Noszko-Horvath, Hungarian ambassador to Lithuania said, “I am very happy about the new direct flight from Vilnius to Budapest. I think that the flight will bring our people closer, will help to develop business and know better culture of our countries. I wish flyLAL air company all the best in using this new possibility.”
Flights to Budapest will be operated three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the journey will take 2 hours.
