SAS to sell stake in airBaltic

SAS stated it plans to sell its 47.2% stake in airBaltic, following a recent announcement by the Latvian Government not to proceed with the carrier’s privatisation. SAS added it hopes to sell its 20% stake in bmi once the future majority owner of the UK carrier is clarified.

SAS recently abandoned its attempt to sell Spanair after receiving bids that would have entailed a EUR250-375 million loss on its investment. SAS, however, stated it would likely keep Spanair for another two to three years and then would consider a sale.
