With the winter flight season approaching, flyLAL introduced its main business directions and development strategy.
flyLAL will exert efforts to sustain its leading position in the Lithuanian market, introduce two new destinations, offer more possibilities to fly all over the world, perform a bigger number of charter flights and offer even more electronic services on its website www.flylal.com.The winter flight season will start on the 26-Oct and will last until the 29-Mar-09.
flyLAL CEO Vytautas Kaikaris stated, “When business and holiday destinations are spreading further and further, we cannot limit ourselves to the neighbouring countries or European cities. flyLAL is already co-operating with 21 world’s air companies and will offer convenient flights to its passengers at the best prices to over 300 cities in the world. We believe that this development strategy is very beneficial for our passengers, since we offer possibilities to reach comfortably not only Europe but also America and Asia within the shortest time.”
According to him, it is the wider geography of flights that should determine passengers’ choice of flyLAL flights in winter season. “Having introduced a bigger number of flight destinations during the summer season, we received a bigger number of passengers, became a flight company with the fastest growth rate in the Baltic Region and gained the leader’s position in Vilnius International Airport. We expect our chosen strategy, i.e. to expansion of flight geography through co-operation with our partners, to help us to sustain this position in the future”, said Mr. V. Kaikaris.
flyLAL CEO also highlighted the intention of the national air company to expand the geography of charter flights. During the winter flight season, flyLAL will co-operate with two biggest Lithuanian travel operators – Tez Tour and Novaturas and perform flights to the holiday destinations – Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, etc. - of these travel companies.
By the end of this year, flyLAL is planning to carry 850 000 passengers in total, i.e. approximately 60% more than last year.
In the winter season, flyLAL will launch two new destinations – Madrid and Budapest. Deputy Director of flyLAL Development Department Mr. Liutauras Tarabrinas said, “These two are very important cities for both passengers planning to visit the capital cities of Spain and Hungary and for passengers intending to fly further to Southern and Central Europe. Madrid and Budapest are important transit points, and many further flight destinations relevant for our passengers start from here: from Madrid to Barcelona, Malaga, Alicante, Seville and other, from Budapest to Sofia, Bucharest, Zagreb, Ljubljana and other.”
According to him, direct flights of flyLAL will be further performed to the main cities in Western and Eastern Europe, from which flyLAL passengers can travel in comfort to other destinations. In winter season, flyLAL will offer direct flights from Vilnius to Amsterdam, Budapest, Frankfurt, Kiev, London, Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Rome, Istanbul, Tallinn.
