Alitalia - Developments in the procedure for Extraordinary Administration

The Extraordinary Administrator for Alitalia, Mr Augusto Fantozzi, announces that:

 

1. The Financial Times, Il Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 Ore and La Repubblica published the call for bids, already issued 22-Sept-08 on Alitalia’s website, not only regarding the procedure for Alitalia itself but also the procedures for Alitalia Servizi S.p.A., Alitalia Airport S.p.A. and Alitalia Express S.p.A., inviting anyone who is able to ensure medium-term continuity of air transport service, acting swiftly while respecting the requisites called for by national legislation including Treaties which Italy is part of, to present – by 30-Sep-08 – expressions of interest for the purchase of one or more company branches as per the above procedures;

2. expressions of interest are continuing to arrive from subjects in Italy and abroad relating to assets or company branches as per the above procedures, whose documentation and preliminary appraisal is entrusted to the financial advisor for the procedure;

3. according to what was agreed during the meeting on 22-Sep-08 with representatives of ENAC, Alitalia will put forward to ENAC, by 25-Sep, a detailed report showing the financial capacity of the Alitalia Group carriers to continue operating until 30-Sep, without negative repercussions on full compliance with aeronautical regulations and on the appropriate level of service to customers, also regarding the scenario for continuing extraordinary administration.
