On 24-Sept-08, Air France will celebrate the 25th anniversary of services to South Korea.

The inaugural flight took place on 04-Jul-83 in a Boeing 747 Combi (cargo and passengers) with 250 seats. At the time, Air France was the first European airline to fly to South Korea.

The Paris/ Anchorage/ Tokyo/ Seoul route was operated once a week as part of a commercial cooperation agreement with Korean Airlines. The trip took almost 21 hours and 10 minutes.

Today, Air France offers 2 daily flights, i.e. 14 weekly frequencies to Seoul. 7 of these flights are operated by Air France in Boeing 777-300 during the summer season and in Boeing 777-200 in winter. The 7 others are operated on a code-share basis by Korean Airlines in Boeing 747-400.

KLM also operates a daily flight to Seoul from Amsterdam.

Air France KLM is ranked first among all groups in terms of traffic between Korea and Europe.
