Air Berlin improves revenue in September

Over the first nine months of 2008, Air Berlin transported 2.9% more passengers than in the corresponding period of the previous year. From Jan-08 to Sep-08, 22,107,115 passengers flew Air Berlin.

 

Fleet capacity utilisation for the first nine months of the year rose from 77.7 to 79.3%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points.

In Sep-08, Air Berlin increased its revenue per available seat kilometre to 5.96 Eurocents (09/2007: 5.31 Eurocents), an increase of 12.1%. Revenue per available seat kilometre improved, even though a targeted capacity reduction decreased the number of passengers by 3.1 percentage points to 2,854,278 passengers (09/2007: 2,946,929) and the fleet capacity utilisation by 1.7 percentage points to 82.5% (09/2007: 84.2%).
