Finnair launches Winter timetable

Finnair has moved to its winter timetable on 26-Oct-08. Finnair will increase scheduled flights to long-haul destinations this coming winter compared with last year. The carrier will fly to Hong Kong daily this winter instead of four flights per week. The Bangkok daily service will be almost doubled.

Petteri Kostermaa, Finnair's Vice President Route Strategy and Traffic Planning said, "The twice-daily service on the Bangkok route, which is particularly important for Finns, reflects the popularity of travel to Thailand."

In Finland, capacity to Lapland is being increased for the winter, and additional flights will be arranged, if necessary. Services will be reduced across the board. On Christmas Eve only one Finnair long-haul flight - to Bangkok - will depart from Helsinki-Vantaa.

Seoul, which opened in June, and Yekaterinburg, which began in September, appear on the winter timetable for the first time. The arrival of the winter timetable, however, sees the removal of Guangzhou and Gdansk from the route selection.

The winter timetable operates until  28-Mar-09
