S7 Airlines reports increase in sales

S7 Airlines announced (18-Nov-08) its financial results for the first nine months of 2008.The company posted sales of 31,929 million rubles in the period from Jan-08 through Sep-08, up 44% from the same period of 2007.
The company’s net profit for the first nine months of 2008 nearly doubled over last year to RUB157 million. Sibir’s net assets as of 01-Oct-08 amounted to RUB1,433 million, up 43% from last year. Ilya Alexandrovsky, S7 Airlines’ Deputy CEO for Finance and Economics said, “The airline is showing stable growth in all the financial indicators despite the rise in fuel prices throughout 2008. This is first and foremost due to the increase in the number of transported passengers, optimization of the company’s route network and systematic phasing-out of Soviet-made airplanes from the fleet,”
