Malev takes delivery of first Q400 turboprop

Malev's announced its very first Q400 turboprop, tail number HA-LQA, landed at Budapest Ferihegy airport on 27-Nov-08, at 00.30 hours. The arrival follows a technical and official inspection and technical flight.

 

The company intends to bring the latest member of the fleet into service on regional routes once all the necessary documentation and flight safety procedures and trials are completed.

Peter Leonov said, the CEO of Malev said, "Malév chose to introduce the Q400 on its regional services in response to the latest challenges facing the air transport industry. The Q400 has a key role to play in Malév’s fleet restructuring programme. The quiet, fast, cost-efficient and environmentally friendly Q400 turboprop, ideal for short- and medium-haul flights, will serve to ensure the comfort of Malév customers and the efficient operation of the airline."
