Flybe announced (18-Dec-08) the launch of yet another brand new route for Summer 2009, namely between the Island and London Luton, as well as the reintroduction of its Jersey to Southend service.
The Luton service is expected to be particularly welcomed after Easyjet’s decision to walk away from the route earlier this year.
This brings the total number of routes being flown by Flybe from Jersey Airport over the summer months to a record 24, delivering on Flybe’s promise to bring unrivalled travel choice to the Channel Islands.
Effective 29-Mar-09, Flybe’s new Luton service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with an additional Saturday service available between 23-May-09 and 19-Sep-09 - fares from GBP34.99 one way including taxes and airport charges; its Southend service will operate on Saturdays from 06-Jun-09 to 29-Aug-09.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, says: “The additional routes will make South East England even more accessible not only for business travellers but also for visitors looking for a weekend break. While other airlines may be ‘here-today-gone-tomorrow’ operators, Flybe’s record of nearly three decades of serving Jersey means that passengers can be sure we’re here from the long-term. Islanders can have no doubt of our commitment to providing the most comprehensive selection of convenient, affordable destinations to and from Jersey.
“Our summer schedule to the Channel Islands shows us continuing to strengthen our operations with many new routes from UK regional airports.”
