Boeing announces appointment of Marcello Bruni as director of corporate communications

Boeing has appointed (30-Mar-09) Marcello Bruni as director of corporate communications for Italy and Southern Europe. Bruni, 40, succeeds Antonio De Palmas, who had been appointed president of European Union and NATO Relations. Bruni will be responsible for developing the company's communications strategies and engaging with key stakeholders in Italy, Greece and the Balkans.
President of Boeing Italy, Rinaldo Petrignani said, "With several years of international experience, Marcello brings a strong background in the defense business and deep understanding of international corporate communications. Italy is a key market for Boeing. In this central role, he will work closely with the Boeing team to foster the company's image, while working to enhance our presence at the national, regional and local levels."
Bruni joins the International Corporate Communications team from Lockheed Martin, where he previously covered the roles of communications manager for Air and Missile Defense and Tactical Missiles. Before that, he held various communications and public affairs positions within the United States Department of Defense and for Western Kentucky University.
Bruni holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Kentucky University and completed additional graduate work in European Studies at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. He obtained a masters degree in European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
