Ryanair confirmed (07-Apr-09) that for two weeks (27-Jul - 09-Aug) all flights to/from Pau will transfer to Lourdes (40km from Pau) while Pau Airport undergoes upgrade works to its landing systems which will enable more Ryanair flights to land safely in adverse weather conditions.

Ryanair and Pau Airport sincerely apologise to all passengers for any inconvenience caused. Passengers who are already booked to travel through Pau Airport during this two week period will be contacted by Ryanair and advised of complementary coach transfers.

This upgrade at Pau will benefit all passengers in the long-term as it will minimise weather related cancellations and diversions in future.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

“Ryanair has worked with Pau and Lourdes Airports to minimise the disruption of the closure of Pau by transferring all flights to Lourdes which is just 40 kilometres away. Ryanair will contact all affected passengers via email to inform them of the amendments to their itinerary.

“These essential upgrade works will benefit all passengers in the long-term and will help to ensure that Ryanair passengers suffer fewer adverse weather related disruptions on flights to/from Pau”.
