Finnair is one of the few airlines that has been deemed by the European Union to have fully met all requirements concerning passenger rights on its Internet websites.
Customers booking flights on Finnair websites can be assured that their Rights as consumers are safeguarded. The company supports the EU's efforts to clarify the ground rules within this sector.
On Finnair Internet sites, taxes and fees are included in ticket prices, terms and conditions of the tickets are clearly stated, and there is no discrimination in fare pricing based on nationality or the place of residence. In addition, it is clearly stated which flights are nonstop services.
Planning Manager of Finnair's Government and Industry Affairs, Pekka Vuori said, "The Internet is becoming an increasingly important channel for flight ticket sales. We estimate that a third of corporate flight tickets will be sold on the Internet by 2010. This is a result we can be very proud of, as we value the trust of our customers. We have worked hard with our legal affairs and internet development units to ensure that consumers receive clear and exact information from us.”
Finnair offers an Internet booking service in a total of 11 languages, namely Finnish, Swedish, English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, German and Russian.
Finnair is able to serve half of the world's global customers in their own language. The Finnair Internet site languages cover an estimated 3.3 billion people.
