Ryanair’s May Traffic Three Times That of BA

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, confirmed that it carried three times the UK and Europe traffic of British Airways with 5.5million passengers opting for Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares in May, representing an increase of 9%, while BA’s UK and Europe passenger numbers fell by 8% to just 1.7 million.

 

Ryanair’s continued growth underlines that passengers will no longer tolerate the high fares and fuel surcharges imposed by flag carrier airlines.
 
Head of Communications, Stephen McNamara, announced “Ryanair continues to grow traffic each month as passengers opt for Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharge over BA’s high fares and greedy fuel surcharges.
 
Ryanair carried 9% more passengers in May this year and now even more business travellers are opting for our guaranteed lowest fares and unrivalled punctuality. Ryanair now carries three times the monthly traffic of BA in the UK and Europe and we will continue to grow as even more passengers become price sensitive and Ryanair continues to lower fares.”
