Embraer has signed a five-year Pool Flight Hour
program service contract with Austria’s NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH. This special customer support program provides optimized inventory control and reduces the operator’s need for initial investment in replacement parts and infrastructure.
“We are glad to support NIKI with our Pool Flight Hour program and to offer them the best material solution for securing high-quality standards for their aircraft,” said Leandro Laia, Embraer Vice President, Customer Support and Services – Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The contract covers the present EMBRAER 190 jet operated by NIKI, which will be joined by another four aircraft of the same model included in the deal announced in July 2008. The Pool Program quickly provides replacement parts and minimizes the need for inventory investments, through an agreement by which the customer pays a given amount, based on the number of flight hours of the aircraft enrolled in the program. Embraer assumes the responsibility for maintaining a parts inventory at its distribution and service centers, in order to provide parts to operators as soon as they are requested. “After having introduced our first EMBRAER 190, one month ago, we are delighted to reinforce our relationship with Embraer by joining the Pool Flight Hour program,” said Gottfried Neumeister, CFO of NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH. “In such a competitive market, this program is the right solution for providing top-level maintenance, while optimizing costs.” (c) Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation.
