Bulgaria Air and Hemus Air are using Airport Obstacle Database
19-Jun-2009 |
Lufthansa Systems and Bulgaria Air have recently signed a three-year contract providing the airline with Lido Airport/Obstacle data. Bulgaria Air and Hemus Air will receive a customized data update on a weekly basis. With the high quality obstacle data the solution provides, Bulgaria Air and Hemus Air will optimize its flight preparation process and thus increase the quality of its flight path data.
Lido Airport/Obstacle Data prepares all relevant information that is required for applications to determine take-off and landing performance data and keeps it up to date. Currently, the Obstacle Database contains up-to-date data on permanent and temporary obstacles at around 1,600 airports. Part of each airport data set is a tailored engine out procedure, the Engine Out Standard Instrument Departures (EOSIDs). These procedures are analyzed for optimum results in payload and safety, considering obstacles as well as engine/airframe combinations.
Bulgaria Air and Hemus Air - both belonging to the Bulgarian Aviation Group - are the national air carriers of Bulgaria headquartered in Sofia. The fleet of both airlines contains currently 22 aircraft and serves over 60 destinations in Europe and the Middle East. Bulgaria Air is already using Lufthansa Systems' Lido Flight Management System database as well as the company's NetLine/Ops and NetLine/Crew solutions.
