Air Southwest hosts regional IoD reception
South West business directors discovered how Britain's local airline is putting the pleasure back into business travel at a networking event at Plymouth City Airport last week (25-Jun-2009).

The evening was a joint initiative of Air Southwest and the South West branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Richard Ayre, IoD chair for Devon and Cornwall said: " Reliable year-round air links are vital to the region's businesses, especially in these challenging economic times.  This was an excellent opportunity for our members to hear how the Plymouth based airline is expanding its services, putting the needs of their business passengers first, and providing the kind of fast easy access that makes the difference."

Deputy Chief Executive of Air Southwest, Mike Coombes,  said: " The recent launch of our new service to London City Airport received an excellent response from the local business community and really demonstrated the value that busy executives place on fast and comfortable connections to the capital.   We were delighted to showcase Plymouth City Airport and its business facilities to local business directors and provide an update on our fast and convenient air links from Plymouth to 11 destinations across the UK and Ireland."

The South West Region of the IoD is one of the most active in the UK, with some 3400 members spread across six Branches covering Bath & Wiltshire, Bristol, Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset.

IoD South West is renowned for its programme of inspirational and valuable business events including company visits, business breakfasts, entrepreneurs lunches and dinners and local business networking.
