Passengers opt for SMS Confirmations in its 1st Month Vatican Residents Give Blessing to SMS Service
Ryanair, the World’s favourite airline, today (23 July) announced that over 100,000 passengers opted to receive SMS booking confirmations to their mobile phones since the service was launched last month in conjunction with 15Below. Ryanair passengers can opt for the service, which costs just €1, in order to avoid having to print off their confirmation email or search for it on their computer before checking in online.

The biggest users of the services were passengers from Italy (16%), the UK (15%), Spain (12%) and Ireland (5%) while even those in Vatican City have “blessed” the service with sixteen Vatican City residents opting to receive their booking confirmation direct to their mobile phones.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

“Ryanair is delighted that so many passengers have opted for our new SMS confirmation service in the first month. The service delivers passenger booking confirmation numbers directly to their mobile within 24 hours ensuring their booking information is close to hand when they go to check-in online. The service has proved hugely popular in Italy, the UK and Spain and even Vatican residents have given the service their blessing. Ryanair expects usage to grow strongly throughout Europe as passengers continue to snap up Europe’s guaranteed lowest fares from ryanair.com.”
