Ryanair reminds passengers of ID Policy

Ryanair reminded passengers to bring their passport when travelling on all Ryanair flights as from Thursday next (1st Oct 09) Ryanair will no longer accept a driver’s licence as a valid form of identification.
From Thursday 01-Oct-2009 Ryanair passengers must be in possession of a valid passport or a government issued National Identity card which has been issued solely for the purpose of identification (i.e. driver’s licence, electoral register cards etc are not included). Passengers, who arrive at an airport without a valid form of identification, as advised and agreed to at the time of their booking, will not be able to travel. Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said: “Ryanair passengers must ensure that they have a valid form of identification to travel on Ryanair flights. Ryanair has moved to simplify our identification policy to avoid passenger confusion and from 1stOctober all Ryanair passengers must hold a valid passport or avalid National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) co untry.Passengers arriving at an airport with a driver’s licence or any other forms of non-valid identification will be unable to travel on Ryanair flights” |
