The airport now has nearly one hundred service points. Opened a month ago, the new shopping complex has select shops, which represent the very best Finnish products and famous international brands. The new shops and restaurant complex are located near Gates 32–36 in the long-haul flight area, which serves departures to Asia and the US as well as non-Schengen countries in Europe. The service points are open in line with flight schedules from 7am-8pm. Some have longer business hours.
Renovation work continues at Helsinki Airport Additional service points will be opened in November, when the facilities in Terminal 1 are completed. At the beginning of December, new passenger facilities and luxurious spa will open in the long-haul flights area. Renovation of the older terminal sections was begun in August and will continue for a couple years. The first phase of basic renovations will be completed in March 2010, when some of the new check-in facilities in Terminal 2 will open.
New shopping complex vendors Luxbag offers product lines from two world-class brands, Loewe and Celine. In addition to the sophisticated selection of handbags, the shop also offers a variety of wallets, scarves, belts and knitwear. Men will also find a nice range of ties and bags. Luxbag’s brands are not available for sale anywhere else in Finland. Mulberry is also a purveyor of fine bags, wallets, belts and calendars for men and women. The brand selection varies according to season. Stockmann offers the customer top Finnish design brands, such as Iittala as well as other gifts and souvenirs. Men’s and women's apparel and fashion items are also in stock. Stockmann has two other outlets at the airport: one at Gate 26 and the other near Gate 30. Aseman Kello sells Finnish Lapponia and Kalevala-koru jewellery and international luxury watches. Other Aseman Kello outlets are located across from Gates 26 and 30. M-boxi stocks luggage and accessories from such brands as Tumi and Samsonite. Handbags and wallets from other well-known brands are also sold. M-box has another outlet near Gate 26. R-kioski serves passengers with a wide range of convenience goods, including magazines, books, candies, gifts, souvenirs and hygiene products. R-kioski operates four stores at the airport.
