Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) and Icelandair have signed an exclusive five-year training agreement for the provision of flight simulator training for Boeing 757 and 767. Also included in the agreement is Dash 8-100/300 training for Air Iceland, an associated company of Icelandair. This agreement marks the extension of a 10-year relationship between OAA and Icelandair for flight simulator training in London. Under the new agreement OAA will install a B757 simulator in Copenhagen during 2010, and Icelandair will also have access to the existing OAA B767 flight simulator in Stockholm. Head of Training at Icelandair, Össur Brynjólfsson comments: "We at Icelandair are very pleased to continue our long-term relationship with OAA for the years to come. We have had an excellent relationship with OAA in London for many years and with a new training base for Icelandair in Copenhagen we will benefit even more from our cooperation. We feel like back home in Copenhagen where we started our B757 training in early 90's". OAA’s training centre in Copenhagen is located close to the airport terminal at Copenhagen Airport Kastrup, the busiest airport in Scandinavia with a global air traffic network. OAA Copenhagen currently houses B737NG and an MD-80 Full Flight Simulators, cabin trainers for both aircraft types as well as the Airbus family, a fire fighting trainer, several door trainers and additional cabin crew training equipment. The training centre is fully equipped with extensive classrooms and CBT facilities. Mike Humphreys, Managing Director of OAA’s Type Training Division, says "We are delighted to continue our partnership with Icelandair and look forward to welcoming them back to Copenhagen. Also, the addition of this simulator to our existing portfolio of B737NG and MD80 simulators and cabin training facilities is a reflection of our confidence in the attractiveness of the Copenhagen Training Centre to our existing and future customers".
