Avianova expands its fleet
Following its successful first six months of operations as Russia s fastest growing LCC, Avianova has contracted with US leasing company ACG to add two more 180 seater A320 s to its fleet.

Avianova s third V2500 engined A320 aircraft will be delivered to Moscow in March and the fourth aircraft will arrive at the airlines new Sheremet’evo base in April.

Andrew Pyne, Moscow based shareholders representative for Avianova, refused to rule out adding even more airframes later in 2010: 'We are delighted to see these new additions to the fleet - they will enable us to add services to new destinations like Ufa and Perm, which are already selling well - but we will be watching market demand closely and we are prepared to add more aircraft this year - and many more destinations to the network - if the travelling public continues to react so enthusiastically to our 250 ruble fares. To carry 150 000 passengers in barely six months from launch is an outstanding achievement.'

General Director Vladimir Gorbunov added: 'We aimed high from Day One, when we launched services to Sochi: the A320 is a superb aircraft for us and we believe that our winning combination of safe and reliable flights with affordable fares is already drawing a whole new category of traveler into the air. We are confident that we can repeat that success when we move to Sheremteyevo at the end of March and in the new markets we intend to service with these two new aircraft'

Currently Avianova flies to the following destinations: Astrahan, Sochi, Rostov-na–Donu, Krasnodar, Samara, Nabereznie Chelni (Begishevo) and Kazan from Vnukovo airport using Airbus A320s. Starting March 5th and 6th Avianova will open 2 more flights to Ufa and Perm. 250 ruble tickets can be booked for all these routes via the airline’s web sites at www.avianova.ru and www.avianova.com
