Virgin Atlantic reaffirms relationship with LSG Sky Chefs

LSG Sky Chefs announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Virgin Atlantic Airways for an extensive range of its products and services. The new contracts, which would commence 1 June 2010, cover UK in-flight catering as well as logistics, product supply and operational support services.

LSG Sky Chefs will continue to provide Virgin Atlantic with in-flight catering services to support its over 6 million customers on thousands of flights each year. This covers the locations of London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester as well as seasonal flights in the UK. LSG Sky Chefs will also continue to support Virgin Atlantic with in-flight management in the form of operational support services. A dedicated team will focus on the operational coordination of Virgin Atlantic’s catering worldwide as well as quality monitoring and follow-up.

SkylogistiX, the joint venture between LSG Sky Chefs and Kuehne + Nagel, will provide central warehousing, global logistics, asset ownership and supply chain management services. A significant amount of Virgin Atlantic’s product supply, including sourcing activities, will be provided by LSG Sky Chefs Catering Logistics GmbH.
