Under the terms of the agreement, OAG will resell the TRX Airline Carbon Emissions Calculator and Reporting Services to its customer base including corporations, airlines, and airports needing visibility into carbon emissions generated from air travel. The services provide access to the robust set of calculations and data required to accurately assess the carbon footprint generated from air travel. The service leverages TRX's proprietary calculation algorithms and data consolidation expertise resulting in one of the most accurate calculators in the industry today. "Partnering with TRX to further distribute its airline carbon emissions calculation and reporting services not only gives us a great opportunity to deliver a unique resource to our customers, but it is a natural alignment of our vision to be the trusted and undisputed global leader of aviation intelligence," said Peter von Moltke, Chief Executive Officer, UBM Aviation, parent company of OAG. "TRX's noted leadership in the area of CO2 reporting and calculation makes them a valuable business partner in meeting our customers' evolving needs." TRX CO2 calculation and reporting services, based on its award winning, proprietary airline carbon emissions calculator, was recently identified by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) as being the best currently available in the market today, citing transparency and overall comprehension as key factors. SEI is an independent, international research institute specializing in sustainable development and environment issues. Additionally, TRX received the "Best Technology in 2008/2009" ICARUS Award for Airline Carbon Emission measurement technology from the Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM). ITM is the leading professional body for buyers, managers and suppliers of business travel in the UK and Ireland with over 1,000 members from large corporations, government departments and NGOs, SMEs, and travel suppliers. "We are delighted to join forces with OAG, long recognized as a leader in providing aviation intelligence to the air transport industry," said Shane Hammond, President and CEO, TRX. "Our joint effort will help improve our clients' ability to accurately track and report airline carbon emissions by providing a highly versatile reporting platform combined with the most expansive underlying data sets and proven calculation methodology available in the industry today." |
