Turkish Airlines achieves record net operating profit for FY07

Turkish Airlines announced it achieved a record high net operating profit of USD420 million for FY07. Due to the fall of foreign exchange rate, net profit increased by 80%, to USD224 million. Operating revenue increased by 30% to USD3.670 million. 76% of scheduled revenue was from international traffic and 24% was from domestic traffic. In the operating costs, fuel cost’s portion is the same with previous year at 28% and the second important cost item, personnel cost is 24%.

 

The carrier also reported passenger numbers increased by 16% to 19.6 million, cargo traffic increased by 13% to 180 thousand tonnes. Available Seat Km (ASK) and Revenue Per Km (RPK) increased by 13% and 19% respectively, while load factor increased by 4 ppts to 72.7%
