oneworld is boosting its presence at Milan Malpansa with two more of its member carriers launching services at the airport. Malév Hungarian Airlines added the gateway to its network with American Airlines to follow 01-May-08.
With British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines and Royal Jordanian already operating to Malpensa, it means the Milan airport will be served by seven of oneworld's ten member airlines.
American Airlines will connect Malpensa daily non-stop with its New York JFK hub from 01-May-08, with Boeing 767-300s fitted with 30 of Next Generation Business Class seats and 191 Economy/Coach seats.
Meanwhile, Malév Hungarian Airlines recently commenced operating between Malpensa and its Budapest hub with twice daily Boeing 737600s, offering Business and Economy Class. Also this Summer, Iberia is raising the frequency of its flights between Milan Malpensa and its Madrid hub by 50% - to six a day from four a day a year ago.
oneworld extended its highly successful businessflyer programme to small and medium sized corporate customers based in Italy at that time, enabling them to gain substantial discounts on their business travel in return for a more regular relationship with oneworld member airlines.
