Aviapartner Handling announced it has signed a major contract with Air One for the provision of full handling services at Milan Malpensa. The contract, effective since 30-Mar-08 for ramp handling and as of 01-Jul-08 also for passenger services, covers approximately 130 weekly services (roughly 7,000 services p/a) and will double the volume at the station.

Air One started with a new programme of various domestic and international operations out of Milan-Malpensa on 30-Mar-08 with A320 and CRJ900 aircraft and foresees a growth rate of 40% per year for this service. Air One will also launch two intercontinental services to the United States (to Boston and Chicago) from mid-Jun-08 with new A330-200 aircraft.

The set of full handling services which Aviapartner will provide to Air One in Milan Malpensa includes passenger services (check-in, boarding assistance, baggage tracing services), aircraft handling (loading and unloading, ground power, cleaning, water and sanitary services, freight and baggage transfer, headset, pushback and towing), and traffic operations (flight documentation, communication, crew briefing, and flight supervision).

Patrizio Longo, Managing Director of Aviapartner Italy: “We are very proud that Air One has chosen Aviapartner for this major contract in Milan-Malpensa. This agreement represents a major step forward for our Milanese operations. Aviapartner started Full handling services in this airport in Oct-06 and it hasn’t stopped growing since then, but this is definitely a major breakthrough.”
