Transaero Airlines to introduce a brand new service category, Premium Economy Class. The concept of Premium Economy Class reflects Transaero’s response to increasing demand for maximum quality at an optimal price.

Premium Economy Class salons, located behind Business Class salons in upgraded Boeing 737 and 767 aircraft, are also equipped with modern audio and video in-flight entertainment systems. Premium Economy Class passengers will also be able to take advantage of separate check in desks and wider seats with a more comfortable 90 cm pitch to increase the personal space and freedom of movement.

In addition, passengers flying Premium Economy Class will have a greater menu selection for in-flight meals, including a greater choice of entrees, snacks, salads, fruits, desserts and hot beverages. On flights longer than 3 hours travelers will receive bonus travel kits and accessories.

With introduction of Premium Economy Class Transaero’s fifteen Boeing 737 and ten 767 jets now have three class-seating configurations including business class, premium economy class and tourist economy class, the latter offering standard international economy class travel.

According to industry sources for 2008, Transaero Airlines is Russia’s second-largest carrier in terms of passenger traffic.
