In spring 2009, Air France Industries and KLM Engineering & Maintenance are to launch a 6-month trial of zero-emission compressed-air powered vehicles. Developed by MDI (Motor Development International), the vehicles, dubbed AirPod, are designed as people carriers for small/medium volume loads.

Air France reportedly plans to lower its fuel surcharge by 09-Sep-08. Currently, the surcharges range from EUR42 per sector for a return domestic service to EUR270 for a long-haul service involving sectors of more than nine hours.

Amadeus announced the successful implementation of the Amadeus Ticket Changer (ATC) Shopper with Air France. The airline launched the new ticket rebooking technology in July across its 80 websites to allow online rebooking of tickets sold through all direct channels.

Air France has reportedly notified Japanese travel agents that it plans to halt ticket commission payments, effective Jan-09, following similar moves by Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines. A formal announcement will reportedly be made in Sep-08.
