Aviapartner Cargo has recently signed a major contract with Turkish Airlines covering its 4 online stations of Paris-CDG, Lyon, Nice, and Strasbourg and all offline stations in France, i.e. a total coverage of 14 airports including all national and trucking distribution.

Turkish Airlines has extended the contract for the use of the Advance Market Information Suite from Lufthansa Systems for another three years. By analysing Market Information Data Tapes (MIDT) data the flexible solution enables the airline to identify trends and market opportunities and to make its network management strategy more efficient.

As of 02-Jul-08, Turkish Airlines increased its three-day-a-week Istanbul - Minsk flights to four days, including Wednesdays. The new timetable is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 12:55 from Istanbul, 16:15 from Minsk.

Turkish Airlines announced it achieved a record high net operating profit of USD420 million for FY07. Due to the fall of foreign exchange rate, net profit increased by 80%, to USD224 million. Operating revenue increased by 30% to USD3.670 million. 76% of scheduled revenue was from international traffic and 24% was from domestic traffic. In the operating costs, fuel cost’s portion is the same with previous year at 28% and the second important cost item, personnel cost is 24%.

Turkish Airlines has joined Star Alliance as its 20th member airline. Turkish Airlines brings to the Star Alliance an additional 31 destinations, in Turkey, Central Asia and the Middle East. Overall, Star Alliance now offers 18,000 daily flights serving 965 airports in 162 countries.
