British Airways has placed an order 20 CFM56-3 Advanced Upgrades kits for its 737 Classic fleet. The kits begin delivery early next year. The order could potentially encompass as many as 44 CFM56-3 engines.

British Airways is enhancing services in its Club Europe cabin from 23-Feb-09 by removing the use of the middle seat. This new configuration will offer those customers booked in the airline's shorthaul business class cabin a window or aisle seat, with the middle seat free.

British Airways World Cargo has announced (17-Nov-08) a reduction to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.51 / USD0.75 / EUR0.75, with effect from 01- Dec-08. Adam Carson, senior manager revenue management, said: We are reducing the fuel surcharge following another decline in fuel prices.

British Airways has agreed a multi million pound deal for the new Thales TopSeries In Flight Entertainment system to be installed on its new delivery aircraft and next generation aircraft.
With bigger LCD screens, the multimedia system will give customers access to more than 100 movies, 300 programmes and range of radio programmes and podcasts.

The new card offers customers a multitude of rewards and benefits, and will be accepted across the MasterCard global network with 27.3 million acceptance locations around the world, which include more than 1.9 million ATM locations worldwide.

British Airways World Cargo has announced the appointment of a new BA World Cargo customer service team in Thailand. From 03-Nov-08, the new team replaced Qantas Freight, the carrier's previous general sales agent (GSA) in Thailand, and is based in a new headquarters at WFS-PG Cargo Suvarnabhumi Airport.

British Airways which operates 28 weekly flights from the UAE to London Heathrow has reduced its fuel surcharge for World Traveller (economy) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) customers.

British Airways presented its interim management report for the six months ended 30-Sep-08. British Airways' chief executive Willie Walsh, said: This is a good performance given the incredibly difficult trading conditions. The six month period will be remembered as one of the bleakest on record.”
