Zoom Airlines announced the launch of its non-stop service to London Gatwick from Winnipeg, the only direct flight to the UK from Winnipeg. Zoom Airlines launched the service with introductory fares of CAD299.

(XFN Asia) Spanish airlines are facing growing pressure on their domestic routes from the expansion of the country's high-speed railway network, which the government says will be the world's most extensive by 2010. State-owned railway operator, Renfe, opened a bullet train service between Madrid and Malaga on the Mediterranean coast in Dec-07, and between the Spanish capital and Barcelona two months later.

Malév, the Hungarian national airline, resumed scheduled flights between Toronto and Budapest on 26 May. The direct Toronto-Budapest route is covered by two-class, 229-seat Boeing 767-300ER type aircraft operating five times a week.
