(XFN Asia) SAS AB has reportedly ruled out the sale of its Spanair unit to Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana SA, as it considers its offer too low. SAS is now focusing on a potential offer from a group of Catalan investors led by hotel chain, Husa, and the region's private business foundation, FemCat.

OpenSkies, a premium transatlantic airline from British Airways, received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin operations. The new airline will offer flights between Paris' Orly Airport and New York's JFK Airport starting in June.
