In July 2010, Air Berlin, Germany's second-largest airline company, welcomed 3,700,971 passengers on board, i.e. an increase of 6.4 percent (July 2009: 3,479,401 passengers, including those traveling on the acquired NIKI and TUIfly routes).

SR Technics and Air Berlin have signed a ten-year engine maintenance contract. The contract covers a significant part of the engines on Air Berlin’s fleet of about 55 Airbus A320 Family, 13 Airbus A330 and about 55 Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft.
