An extraordinary and ordinary General meeting was held by shareholders of Alitalia - Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A., with the following deliberations: (i) to modify the company statute and (ii) to increase the company capital to the nominative amount of Euro 167,088,836.00, by issuing a special category of shares, with a surcharge of Euro 0.93 per share, therefore for a total amount of about EUR322 million, to be offered in subscription to the industrial partner, Air France-KLM, in accordance with the agreements stipulated.

Alitalia and Air France-KLM have reached (12-Jan-09) an agreement to launch a new strategic partnership, cemented by Air France-KLM taking a minority stake in Alitalia.

The European Commission concluded (12-Nov-08) that the sale of Alitalia’s assets does not constitute State aid provided that the Italian authorities fully comply with the undertakings they have given. The sale is planned in the context of the special administration procedure which will lead to the winding-up of the Italian airline.

The Extraordinary Administrator for Alitalia, Mr Augusto Fantozzi, announced (12-Nov-08) that the problems at Rome Fiumicino and Milane Linate airports have disturbed ordinary flight activities and caused damage to the Company and users.
