KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will resume service between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Denpasar Ngura Rai Airport Bali effective 6 December. The service with be operated three times weekly. This marks the resumption of Amsterdam-Bali service, which was last operated on 15-Oct-1997.

Czech Airlines passengers travelling with baggage that does not meet the weight restrictions for complimentary carriage can prepay the excess baggage fee over the Internet. This will save them one third of the price they would otherwise pay at check-in desks at the airport. An excess baggage allowance of up to 30kg can be purchased via the Czech Airlines website.

ST Engineering announced that its aerospace arm, ST Aerospace, has signed a component support programme with Icelandic operator, Primera Air. Worth US$32.5m (about S$47.3m), the programme is for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of its landing gears over five years and an eight-year comprehensive component Maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBH™) programme that includes parts exchange, MRO, component engineering services and logistics. Commencing immediately, these contracts are to support the airline's current fleet of six Boeing 737 next generation aircraft and an additional six aircraft in the near future.

Airbus announced Friday the signature of a cooperation agreement with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) on the cooperative research activities in the field of composite materials. An official ceremony was held at the Paris Air Show on Friday in the presence of Dr. Takashi Ishikawa, JAXA's Executive Director for Aviation Program Group, and Christian Scherer, Head of Strategy & Future Programs of Airbus. This agreement marks the first ever research cooperation between Airbus and a Japanese aerospace agency.

Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have signed a contract regarding a Total Component Support TCS® for the airline’s fleet of Bombardier Q400 regional aircraft. In the coming five years, Lufthansa Technik (LHT) will supply five of the newly acquired turboprop aircraft flying for the PAL Express brand with component pooling and repair services. It is the first turbo-prop contract for the LHT Group in Asia.

AirAsia’s first flight between Kuala Lumpur and London took off on 11-Mar-09 from the Low Cost Carrier Terminal at Sepang, 9.00 am. A send-off celebration was held at the terminal to mark the historic voyage for AirAsia and its long haul affiliate AirAsia X that operates the sector.
