Boeing and members of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group, an airline-led industry working group, announced that several leading air carriers have been accepted as members to the group. Existing members welcome the new group members Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, TUIfly and Virgin Blue.

SkyTeam announced significant milestones in the creation of a new centralized organization for the alliance. Since naming a managing director in April 2009, SkyTeam has recruited six executives from its partner airlines to serve on the core management team and secured a location in Amsterdam for the company headquarters.

Embraer officially launched its Engine LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) Pool Flight Hour program option at the Paris Air Show 2009, June 15-21, in Le Bourget, France. This new option for the Pool program is currently available, offering Embraer E-Jets customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East unlimited access and repair of General Electric engine LRUs.

Boeing forecasts a $3.2 trillion market for new commercial airplanes over the next 20 years and takes into account the industry's near-term realities, including a global economic recession, declining passenger and cargo traffic, and unpredictable fuel prices. The Boeing 2009 Current Market Outlook (CMO), which was released in London today, foresees a market for 29,000 new commercial passenger and freighter airplanes by 2028.
