POLAND : Wizz Air announced (10-Jan-09) that it would enter the Czech market by opening six new routes to be operated from Prague International Airport, starting from as early as 19-Feb-09. The initial route network will include services to London Luton, Rome, Milan Bergamo, Brussels Charleroi, Paris Beauvais and Eindhoven.

POLAND : Wizz Air is outraged by the fact that PPL (Polish Airport Authorities) will close the Etiuda Terminal and double the charges imposed on airlines currently operating out of Etiuda effectively from Apr-09. PPL has confirmed no plans for re-accommodating the low cost carriers other than proposing the prohibitive charges currently available for operations out of the main terminal of Warsaw Airport.

POLAND : Wizz Air announced (04-Nov-08) that it would move its flights serving the Katowice-Barcelona and Sofia-Barcelona route from Barcelona Girona Airport to Barcelona El Prat Airport. The effective move of the current flights will take place on 14-Jan-09.

POLAND : Wizz Air announced that it would launch a new flight from Budapest to Dortmund and concurrently increase frequencies on its Katowice-Dortmund service. The Budapest-Dortmund route will be launched thrice weekly from 26-Oct-08. Wizz Air offers an extensive route network from Dortmund Airport and Budapest will become the airline’s ninth destination besides Gdansk, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Katowice, Cluj, Bucharest and Sofia.

POLAND : Wizz Air Ukraine announced that it would start operating an initial network of seven Ukrainian domestic routes from its operating base at Kiev Boryspil Airport on 11-Jul-08. Wizz Air Ukraine will operate services from Kiev Boryspil Airport to Lviv, Odessa, Simferopol, Kharkov and Zaporozhye. Flights from Lviv and Kharkov to Simferopol will also be available to the Ukrainian travellers.

The effective move of the flights will take place on 15-May-08, concurrently with Wizz Air's newest operating base opening in Cluj. Wizz Air commenced operating from Tirgu Mures Airport in Jul-06 and decided to move its Transylvanian operation to Cluj in Nov-07.
